Errant Knights were Knights that were not noble or had royal blood in them. In the legal sense they could not really become a knight. Instead they felt that they were a knight in their hearts and they set off on their own quest, hoping to defeat many enimies and to become famous and become a real knight, maybe even a pendragon.
These Errant Knights would have to keep to the knights code. Real Knights are raised to be a knight from age 5. Errant Knights could just decide to be a knight whenever they want, even if they havent had the proper training.
